Strand Bookstore at Club Monaco
I often wander into bookstores on free afternoons. As a new writer, I am constantly looking for sources of inspiration, so what better way to do so than to surround myself with tangible sources of knowledge.
The original Strand Bookstore, located on the corner of Broadway and East 12th Street, has become somewhat of a New York classic. This second location, however, is far less known and differs from your typical bookstore. It's wedged between the clothing store Club Monaco and the coffee shop Toby's Estate, and surrounds a picturesque flower shop called Polux Fleuriste.
As for content, the bookshop offers a decent range of books. You won't be finding any rarities here, but you'll be presented with a pleasing collection of bestsellers and classics.
If you have some free time go grab a coffee, shop around, and be sure to take time to smell (or buy) the flowers!
